The Succenturiate Placenta

Abstract

The succenturiate placenta is an accessory lobe of the placenta. Its recognition by obstetricians and sonologists is important because of the high post-partum risk associated with the retention of placental material and the possibility of catastrophic rupture of the connecting vessels during delivery.
