Hysterosonography and hysterography in benign and malignant diseases of the uterus. A comparative in vitro study

H. Hoetzinger
Radiological Department, Marienhospital I, Ruhruniversitaet Bochum, Herne, West Germany.

For the visualization of the uterine cavity hysterography (HS) is an established procedure. Hysterosonography (HS) is a new imaging modality. In an in vitro study the features of HS have been compared to those of HG. The results of both methods were verified by macroscopic and microscopic specimen. HS is superior to HG in determining the diameter of the organ, the presence, number, and location of myomas, and the location and macroscopic extent of endometrial carcinomas.
